Wear plate is the most crucial wear component inside the S-valve unit. In various shapes and versions it is used in all types of concrete pumps. It is mounted inside the housing of the S-valve on the side of conveying cylinders.
Among the variety of wear plates there are two main versions:
- one produced out of high-alloy chromium cast steel highly resistant to wear;
- second produced as a hardfacced version where the hardfacing shows high extremely high wear and load resistance.
The S-valve togeher with the wear ring working in the valve unit moves, sliding on the wear plate, from one conveying cylinder hole to another. Due to constant abrasion by concrete the wear plate is quite frequently exchanged, most often in pair together with the wear ring.
