Bearing housings

Bearing housings are the parts of the sleeve-type design, which are prepared for assembly of bearings and gaskets for the bearing unit. In our machining facility we are able to manufacture following bearing housings:

  • simple / single material design – manufactured out of steel. For example in grades: 42CrMo4, 34CrNiMo6, C45, S355J2, 16MnCr5 and other. Alternatively manufactured out of cast iron (eg. GGG-40, GGG-50) or cast steel (eg. L30GS, L35GSM).
  • complex design – in this version the housing is made out of steel (eg. in C45 steel grade) whereas the bearing sleeve is manufactured out of various materials such as bronze – eg. CuSn10P, CuAl10Fe3Mn2. Also the PA, POM, PTFE materials are possible.

Bearing housings – features

Surfaces, where the bearings are mounted are all manufactured with high accuracy and tolerance. For longer lifetime of such unit these surfaces are heat treated for quality reasons. The structure of the housings include also the system of the lubricating drills for proper grease distribution. The bearing housings which are manufactured by POLMIX-AST company are often designed with gasket-grooves. That assure proper working conditions for the bearing unit. Gaskets also prevent against excessive grease leakages and against ingression of dirt into the bearing, which could lead to shorter lifetime. The collars of the housings with mounting holes are manufactured accordingly to the shape of the assembled item.

We are able to manufacture bearing housings in very wide range of diameters of machine bearing units, starting from the small diameters eg. DN 20 – DN 30 up to the housings prepared for DN 280 – DN 300. We specialize in the design and production of such components applicable to bearing units for concrete pumps.

Below are examples of bearing housings used in concrete pumps Putzmeister and CIFA brand:
